| The
Mountain Resort |
| Situated
in the northern part of Chengde, the Mountain Resort, also called
the Temporary Imperial Dwelling Palace in Rehe, was built by the Emperors
Kangxi and Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty for the sake of stabilizing
the frontier region and maintaining the unity of multi - nationalities.
This large resort is considered the most remarkable imperial garden
still existing today in China. |
| The
Eight Outer Monasteries |
| The
Eight Outer Monasteries were built in groups on the mountain slopes
on the east and north of the Mountain Resort. Their glistening gilt
tiles and grandiose construction show a harmonic combination of the
Han, Mongolian and Tibetan architectural style. There are Puning Temple,
Putuo Zongsheng Temple, Pule Temple, Xumi Fushou Temple, etc. The
Mountain Resort together with the majestic temples is the formation
of a unified entity. It is the miniature of the glorious land of China. |
