BEIJING, March 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Yiwan high-speed railway opened to traffic in December, 2010. It departs from Huayan Station of Yayi Rail in the east and ends at Wanzhou Station of Dawan Station in the west, by way of Yichang, Changyang, Badong, Jianshi, Enshi, Lichuan in Hubei Province and Wanzhou in Chongqing. The route runs through a beautiful land that has long been screened in mountains.

First station: Enshi, Hubei Province

Enshi Grand Canyon Measuring 108 km long, Enshi Grand Canyon is one section of Qingjiang Grand Canyon. It is located in Tunbao town and Banqiao town in Enshi city. In the canyon, everything is charming to the eye. The beetling wall, prattling brook, virgin forest, spectacular waterfall and ancient village compose into a picturesque landscape. The typical karst landform distributes widely to the both banks.

Enshi Tusi City

Tusi City covers an area of 300 mu. It is built along the mountain contour by Tujia People. There are many scenic spots, including Jiujin Hall, bell tower, drum tower, beacon tower, academy of classical learning, Tusi Wall and dramatic stage. The pavilions, terraces, and towers are well spaced with carved beams and painted pillars, making the largest and most spectacular buildings in old Chinese style among Tujia people's buildings.

Admission fee: 50 yuan

What to eat: Badong dried beancurd, Baren stewed pork, Tujia people preserved pork

Second station: Wanzhou, Chongqing Municipality

The Three Gorges (simplified Chinese: 三峡) region is a scenic area along the Yangtze River spanning Chongqing Municipality and Hubei Province with a total length of approximately 200 kilometers. It is composed of Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge, starting from the White Emperor City in Chongqing's Fengjie county in the west and ending at Nanjin Pass in Hubei's Yichang city in the east. Wanzhou in Chongqing is the best western starting place to make a Three Gorges Cruise.

It is well-known for the spectacular scenery, famous places of interest and relics such as White Emperor City, Zhangfei Temple, the hometown of Quyuan, the hometown of Wang Zhaojun and Sanyou Cave. Besides, the Three Gorges region attracted attention globally due to the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, which is changing the scenery of the region.

Qinglong Waterfall

Qinglong Waterfall is located 40 km off Wanzhou city. The scenery here has great charm. It is a perfect delight to the eye to appreciate the majestic waterfall rushing down from atop. The big waterfall measures 64.5 meters tall and 115 meters wide, enjoying the name of "No.1 waterfall in Asia". The 1,600 square meters Shuilian (water-curtain) cave provides a good location for visitors to enjoy the scenery.
