Shanghai Becomes China's Sexiest City

Shanghai is China's sexiest city in people's hearts, according to a recent survey conducted by the consulting company Horizon, the Chongqing Evening News reports.

Nearly 6,600 people aged between 18 and 60 in 30 Chinese cities and municipalities participated in the survey on which Chinese city they consider the sexiest and why. The survey questions were open-ended, allowing respondents to name any city they consider sexy, He Fan, a Horizon researcher, said.

"Sexy" can describe not only hot women, but the word also has a broader meaning in demonstrating a person or city's charm. Just as a person has his or her personality, a city also has a personality since it's a combination of people, He added.

About 17.3 percent of all the interviewees considered Shanghai the sexiest city in China because of its modern urban characteristics and its economic energy. Hong Kong won second place for its international environment and great number of super stars. West China's Chongqing came in third because the city in the mountains is known as home to many beautiful ladies. Beijing, with its history and culture, took fourth place in this activity.
