Wudaoliang

Qinghai-Tibet Railway traverses 289 kilometers
to southwest from Golmud, it is Wudaoliang, at
an altitude of 4,415 meters. Wudaoliang is
knows as the “Forbidden Area for Life”, and the
climate is extremely cold and harsh, perennial
in cruel winter.

Wudaoliang is said to be the most difficult to
through on the Qinghai-Tibet Highroad and
Railway, and the high altitude sickness occurs
frequently here. Except some government-set
units, such as logistics station, pumping
station, meteorological station, protection
station, there is no permanent residence in this
area.
