Arrive in Xiamen in the morning, a beautiful coastal sub-provincial city in southeastern Fujian province. Pick up and pay visit the South Putuo Temple which is the deemed to be one of the must-go tourist places in Xiamen, situated at the foot of Wulaofeng (Mountain of Five Old Men) and facing the sea. The temple covers 30,000 square meters with four main buildings on the north-south axis, and the many rooms flanking the main buildings include dormitories, libraries and study rooms for monks. Take a local ferry to tour Gulangyu Island, renowned for its delicate natural beauty, its ancient relics, and its varied architecture. The name of Gu (drum) Lang (wave) is from the huge reef surrounding it. When the tide comes in, the waves pound the reef and it sounds like the beating of a drum. Gu Lang Island with the laudatory title "Island of the Piano" or "Maritime Garden" boasts the Sunlight Rock, the Shu Zhuang Garden and the Piano Museum. Mount Wuyi, located in northern Fujian Province, with an area of 70 sq. km, the area has what is probably the largest, most typical and best-preserved humid subtropical native forest in the world. The Wuyi mountain range, usually called Greater Mt. Wuyi, straddles the border of Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, stretching over 500 km. The average height of the peaks is over 1,000 m above sea level. Today’s sightseeing included Zhu Xi’s Garden, Clouds and Mist Nest, Floating Top Scenic Area and Roaring Tiger Peak Scenic Area. Take a bamboo raft sightseeing of the Stream with Nine Turnings for the whole morning. Then, move on to visit Dahongpao (Big Red Robe) Park and Shuilian (Water Curtain) Cave. Also visit the Dahongpao Tea Factory. Mt. Wuyi has a long cultural history, pay a visit to the site of the Wuyi Palace built in the seventh century for emperors to conduct sacrificial activities remains today.
