Day 1 Arrive in Harbin

 


Arrive in Harbin in the morning, which is known for its bitterly cold winters and is often called the “Ice City”. Pick up from the railway station and have breakfast. Visit Siberia Tiger Park, the largest natural park for wild Siberian tigers in the world at present. The Siberian tiger is considered endangered. It is the largest felid in the world and is known as the King of the Forest. In the afternoon, visit the Harbin International Snow Sculpture Art Expo which holds in Sun Island Scenic Area and exhibits enthralling ice or snow sculptures and architectures, attracting thousands of visitors. Then, visit Harbin Polarland, covering an area of 16,000 square meters (1.6 hectares), the first polar land themed park combining animal shows, polar land sights and an interactive experience into one. Based on the mysterious polar region and using design ideas from an advanced theme park, the park is ready to offer every visitor a wondrous, dreamy and happy round-the-world journey which is told as stories or scenarios. After dinner, attend night garden visit of Harbin Ice and Snow World, by far the largest ice and snow art exhibition in the world. The ice carvings at the Harbin Ice and Snow World are regarded as some of the world's finest examples of ice art, with visitors able to admire some of the largest and most majestic ice-sculpted masterpieces. Day02    Harbin




Drive to visit Yabuli International Ski Resort, the biggest and best ski resort in China, about 200km (124 miles) east of Harbin. The resort provides great skiing with high mountains and good snow. Have local-flavored lunch in farmhouse. Then, enjoy 2-hour exciting skiing, visit the Venues of 2009 World University Games. You could take the option to the highest peak – Guokui Mountain (1374.80m, snow about 1.5m thick) by Aerial Ropeway (the fare is on your own), enjoying the snow scenery, playing snow fighting, making a snowman, watching the rare plant - Dwarf Siberian Pine, Peak Stone Sea, Rime, and etc. (B,L,D)



Local guide information: The lowest temperature is -47.2F, the main peak is 1374.80m high. Because of the high elevation, snow falls for a long period of about 170 days. The period from November to late March of the next year is the best time to ski at Yabuli Ski Resort. Yabuli International Ski Resort includes two distinctive areas: the competitive section and the leisure skiing section. The alpine competitive skiing section reaches an altitude of 1,374 meters (approx. 4,508 feet). Built according to international standard, this section provides an excellent environment for professional skiers. In the leisure skiing section, the highest altitude is only about 1,000 meters (approx. 3,281 feet), and the area provides a comparatively safe environment for leisure skiing. There is also a German built slide where tourists can enjoy sliding down from the top of the snowy mountain. Doing skiing on the slide is easy and safe, bringing visitors a thrilling experience.
Besides skiing, visitors can also take advantage of the other entertainment facilities at the resort, such as the mini golf course, tennis court, turf courts, hot-air balloons, skiing circle, para-gliders among others. The combination of activities, the beautiful forest and comfortable facilities offer tourists a relaxing and fun vacation. In winter, the ski resort is a fantastic place for skiers; in summer tourists can escape the heat and enjoy fun outdoor activities. All year round the resort offers beautiful scenery.

 

 

Day03    Yabuli Ski Resort-Harbin

 

 

The whole day is free in Ski Resort. In late afternoon, drive back Harbin, enjoy the Russian singing and dancing show in the evening. (B,D)

 

Day04    Harbin


Pick up from the airport. Pay a visit to Dragon Tower, the tallest steel tower in China and the second worldwide, totaling 336 meters including its antenna. Take an elevator to 181-meter-high visit layer, step on transparent glass fiber reinforced plastic floor to 190-meter-high outdoor platform for sightseeing. You can have a bird’s view of the whole city, not only the dense building zone in the downtown, but also the mother river - the Songhua River and the famous city swamp - Sun Island in the distance. Then, visit St. Sofia Church, the largest Eastern Orthodox Church in the Far East. It is 53.3 meters (175 feet) high and occupies an area of 721 square meters (0.18 acres). In November 1996, it was listed as one of the Key Cultural Relics under State Protection. Half a year later, the Harbin City government repaired it and renamed it as Harbin Art Gallery. It is a respectable landmark for Harbiners and for tourism. Walk around Central Street, a rare architectural art corridor in China, each exotic built in a European style have the effect of bringing you into an “Eastern Moscow”. Then, visit Flood Control Monument, located at the center of Stalin Park, built to commemorate the tremendous feat of the Harbin people in controlling the massive flood of 1957. The 13 m monument consists of one Roman-style column topped with statues and a 7-meter-long curving corridor surrounding the column. Eleven small, semi-circular pools near the column mark the water level reached by the flood.
