Golden Palace
The Golden Palace is located in the northern suburbs of Kunming East Mingfeng Mountain Originally known as "Copper Tile Temple," created by governor Chenyongbin in Ming 32 years (Year 1604).
Modeling and specifications modeled the Tianzhufeng golden topped Taihe Palace on Wudang Mountain in Hubei, a result of worship the Chen-Wu within, also known as the "Chen-Wu Palace." Qing Emperor Kangxi 10th years (Year 1671), the reconstruction Bengxi King WuSangui directed to repair, the main attractions are the first, second, and the third Gates, frames Star Gate, Taihe Palace, the Palace, Sanfeng Temple, Autumn Park, the Clock Tower, Green Palace, and other construction and Taoist Palace Expo, tea garden, flower garden and other facilities.
With a gross weight of 250 tons, the well-known Golden Palace is a component of the Taihe Palace. It is a squared building modeled after wooden
structure. With double-eave roofs, the Palace is 6.7 meters high, and 6.2 meters wide and deep. The beams, columns, arches, tiles, eaves, god statues, curtains, tables, desks, vases, tablets, couplets, banners and flags are all cast with brass.
The statue of Zhenwu God with gigantic stature and serious appearance is worshiped in the Palace. The Gold Boy and Jade Maiden on both sides take a respectful and submissive appearance. The two generals of water and fire standing on both sides in reverence look powerful and brave. The amours and drapery are carved carefully and cast exquisitely.
The Golden Palace, Zhen-Wu Temple, Middle Temple columns, door, roof, etc. are all made of bronze, extraordinary momentum, bright and shining, which gives the name of "Golden Palace." Its construction reflect Yunnan superb technology of Smelting copper in 300 years ago, besides the Palace, a bronze seven-star flag has been hoisted at the Palace embellishment more ancient solemn.
Behind the Golden Palace, there is a three-story-high Bell Tower that was built in 1984 to house a large, 580-year-old copper bell which is three point five meters (16.4 feet) high and weighs an incredible 14 tons (13.7 gross tons).
The Golden Palace and stone inscriptions are important historical, artistic and scientific value; they are key national cultural protection units nowadays.
