Shibao Zhai



Shibao ZhaiShibao Zhai is located in Yuyin Mountain of the northern side of Yangtze River, was built at the reign of Emperor
Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1644 ~ 1911A.D.), it is 278 kilometers apart from Chongqing city.

The entire stronghold is composed by three parts namely the stronghold gate, the stronghold body the top
stronghold ancient temple. During the reign of Qianlong early years of Qing Dynasty, a temple was constructed
with the aid of the frame on the cliff with wire rope in the summit.

The Tower is made of wood with the height of 56 meters. Its architectural styles and surroundings make it looks
like a heavenly building. Hence it is taken as one of world eight architectural miracles. It is one of several high
wooden buildings in China nowadays. It is also the typical and symbolic buildings characterizing of China’s
southern folk architectural techniques.


The Tower construction was built by relying upon the mountain contour. There are nine pavilion, four corners
tripartite, and layer after of buttress in the stronghold. The only way of access is through mountaineering. From then on, pilgrims and tourists are
exempted from the pain of climbing the wire rope and can go up directly via the link summit. The construction was changed to 12 levels in 1956.

A great poet of Tang Dynasty (618 ~ 907A.D.) - Bai Juyi had once been the official of this county. There is a shrine to commemorate this famous
poet; "Bai Gong Shrine" is the place tourist come to visits today.

Shibao ZhaiBuild like a cone shape, the tower stairway get narrower as you climb up to the Tianzi Palace. Gazing at the top
of the tower, you will be move by the endless river flow and the beautiful scenery in front of your eyes.

Due to the tower's extraordinary design, This tower became one of the eight most oddity designed structures in
