Xinjiang’s unique arid region, oasis, religions, ethnic custom, ancient
architectureand old culture enjoy popularity throughout the world. There are 4
tourist zones: the Urumqi Tourist Zone includes Bingdaban, the Heavenly Pool on
the top of Mt. Tianshanm, the Minority Ethnic Group Custom Exhibition Hall,
Turpan’s ruins of the Ancient Gaochang City, the Flaming Mountain, the
Thousand – Buddha Grottoes, the Grapes Valley, and the kariz. This is the golden
route in Xinjiang.
The North Xinjiang Tourist Zone includes Yili, Tacheng, and the border shopping tour. The South Xinjiang Tourist Zone includes 10
mountains and peaks opened to the foreigners, China’s largest desert and inland river, old cities along the Western Regions. The
East Xinjiang Tourist Zone includes Hami District, Baishitou Scenic Zone, 51 ruin watch – towers of from Tang to Qing dynasties.
Besides there are many historic sites. The Silk Road Tourist Route divides into South, North(Middle), and New North roads. The
North(Middle) Road includes Turpan, Korla, Kuqa, Kashi(Kaxgar), grottoes, historic sites, religions, and ethnic
custom. Kashi is the state – level noted cultural and historic city with a strong
Uygur feature. The South Road includes the appreciating,
collecting and exploring of the Kunlun jade. The fruits, foodstuff and the ethnic songs and dances are attractive.
