Xi’an Shaanxi Province
The city of Xi’an, otherwise Chang’an (ever-lasting peace) in ancient times and situated
in the middle of Guandong Plain, is the capita of Shaanxi Province. With the Qingling
Mountains to the south and the Weihe River to the north, it is in a favorable geographical location surrounded by water and hills.
Xi’an is a noted city and was one of the oldest cities, it is one of the birthplaces of ancient civilization in the Yellow River Basin area of the country. Beginning in 1126 B.C., the Western Zhou, the Qin, the Western Han, the Sui and the Tang, all together 12 dynasties, set up their capitals in Xi’an for more than 1000 years. Emperor Qin Shi Huang is listed on the World Heritage
List. City Wall, Forest of Stone Steles, Famen Temple and Banpo Village Remains are also fabulous cultural and historical sites. And of course, the natural landscape around Xi’an is also marvelous, such as Mt. Huashan.
