Beijing Corrects English Translation Mistakes

One hundred and twenty tourism sites in the capital city of Beijing will soon have their English signs replaced by more standardized ones, which have been corrected by experts.
The Beijing News quoted source from the website of the city's tourism bureau as saying that the bureau has collected the existing bilingual tourism signs from of the 120 spots in the city, including the Yuanmingyuan Park, the Summer Palace and the Great Wall. Related examinations on the English translations have been finished by experts from the China Translation & Publishing Corporation.
According to the bureau, the standardized translations have been put online. The managers of the tourist spots can download it from the website and correct their existing signs accordingly.(source:crienglish.com) |
