Hong Kong Postmaster General Tam Wing-pong announced here Monday that Hong Kong Post will issue first set of hexagon stamps.

He said that the special stamp issue with the theme of "Civic Education" would be released on Aug. 23, and associated stamp products will also be on sale from the same date.

Featuring the winning entry from the Primary School Division of the "Civic Education Stamp Design Competition" in Hong Kong in 2005, this colorful issue helps to enhance understanding of the concept and knowledge of civic education as well as boost people's civic awareness, he said.

Official First Day Covers will be put on sale at all post offices from Aug. 9. The stamps and the associated philatelic products will be displayed at major post offices from the same date, he said. (source:xinhua)
