Qamdo
Qamdo is a beautiful, vast, and richly endowed land in the river basin of Hengduan Mountain, Jinsha River, Nujiang River, and Lancang River. The grand mountains and rivers, the dense forest, the ancient historical relics and the simple and honest folk customs, all have made here an extremely charming place.
Champalin Monastery
Situated on Mala Mountain in Qamdo County, it is one of the biggest temples in front Tibetan area. It belongs to Yellow Sect(Gelug Sect), and was built in 1444.The Buddhist statues, painted murals, and thangkas collected by the monastery are really the feast for the eyes.
Village of painters 
With the name of “the homeland of painters”, Garma Township has a history of 800 years in drawing thangka. The popular painting style of “Gatangkachi” in modern Tibet was created by local painters here.
