Nyingchi
Nyingchi is located in the lower reaches of Yarlung Zangbo River in southeastern Tibet, with an average elevation of about 3,000meters.Here the climate is moist, and the scenery is charming. There, minorities like Monba and Lhoba ethnic groups live in a compact community, so full of unusual ethnic flavor. Pagsum lake
Also named Gonggo Lake, Pagsum Lake is located in Xoka District of Kongpo Gyamda County which rises more than 4,000 meters above sea level. The lake is about 300 km away from Lhasa. There is an ancient temple of Rnyingma Sect on the central island of the lake. It was built in the 17th Century. Every year on April 15th of Tibetan calenddar, Festival of the Ritual Walk around the Pagsum Lake is held here. Many followers will come to the lake and walk around it.
Yarlung Zangbo Grand Valley
The Yarlung Zangbo River rises from the north slope of the middle section of the Himalayas which is more than 6,000 meters high. When passing through Mainling County, it turns suddenly to the south, and cuts the Himalayas into two parts, and then flows into the narrow channel between Namjagbarwa peak and La’gyabelei Peak-both the peaks are more than 7,000 meters. The discharge reaches to 1000m3/s on average in a year. In some section, the drop height can unexpectedly reach more than 300 meters within less than 1,000meters long range, and the current speed can reach more than 18m/s, so comes to the No.1 grand valley in the world, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Valley.
