1 Beijing-Hohhot |
Take overnight train to Hohhot (means “blue city” in Mongolian), the city capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regain. (No transfer service in Beijing) |

2 Arrive in Hohhot |
Arrive in Hohhot in the early morning and be picked up at the railway station. Begin the sightseeing with Dazhao Temple which was completed in 1580 during Ming Dynasty, and was the oldest building and the largest temple in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. Locally, people usually refer to it as the Silver Buddha Temple because there is a rare silver statue of Sakyamuni that measures 2.5-meter-high (8.2-foot-high) here. Then, you will visit Five-Pagoda Temple which is also called Jingangzuo Sheli Baota. As there are five dagobas on the pedestal of the pagoda, it is named Five-Pagoda Temple. Move on to visit Zhao Jun Tomb. In fact this is not the reason it becomes famous, but because of the lady Wang Zhaojun, one of the four most distinguished beauties of Chinese history, who married Emperor of Xiongnu to keep peaceful relationship between two countries. Day 3 Hohhot-Xilamuren Grassland |
Today’s highlight is to visit Xilamuren Grassland area, 100km north from Hohhot. Xilamuren, means "yellow river" in Mongolian. Today you can choose to take horse-riding lessions and enjoy displays of nomadic horse-riding skills and wrestling on your own. Stay overnight in nomadic tent or yurt. (B-L-D) |

4 Xilamuren Grassland-Baotou |
Get up early to enjoy the sunrise on grassland. The daytime is free for you to riding the horse. Then, drive to Baotou, the largest industrial city in Inner Mongolia. (B-L-D) |

Day 5 Baotou-Beijing |
After breakfast, you will visit the Resonant Sand Gorge, situated at the north edge of the Kubuqi Desert. It is more a place of natural beauty than of historical importance. Optional: Here you can try ride camel on the desert. Then, pay a visit to the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan who is a Mongolian hero, reunified the chaotic Inner Mongolia prairie and led his people to be a great civilization. Take overnight train back to Beijing. (B-L-D) |
