GW- CY- 005 ] Shanghai-Yichang-Yangtze River-Chongqing-Xi'an-Beijing ( 14 Day ) (upstream) |
The Yangtze River is China’s longest river and the third longest waterway in the world. There are more than 70 passenger ships cruising between Chongqing and Yicahng, Wuhan or Shanghai both upstream and downstream. Their outstanding hotel and cruise management expertise give travelers a wonderful vacation option on the Yangtze River.
The Three Gorges, Qutang, Wu and Xiling Gorge, the most spectacular section of the Yangtze River, are filled with breathtaking sceneries. Beginning from Baidicheng in Fengjie, Chongqing and ending in Nanjin Pass in Yichang, they extend for a distance of 192 kilometers.
The Three Gorges Dam, is the world’s largest hydroelectric project using the rich water resources of the Three Gorges and the newest attraction on the Yangtze cruise line. After the damming of the open diversion channel on Nov 6, 2002 during the second stage of the Three Gorges Dam’s construction, the Yangtze River Cruise resumed from June 16th, 2003 with still magnificent gorge, impressive mountain landscape and some new attractions.
Suggestions for the tour operator: Most passenger ships sail the line between Yichang and Chongqing. In general, upstream is one day longer than downstream.
