With more isles and sceneries, Taiwan Province is composed of 86 islands including Penghu’s 64 islets and Diaoyu’s 7 islets. There are the “Eight Sights and Twelve Scenic Spots”. The Eight Sights includes the Autumn Moon over Twin Lakes, Mt. Jade Snows, the Cloud Sea of Ali Mountains, the Evening Glow of Anping, the Datun Spring Scenery, the Deep & Secluded Luge Gorge, the Clear Water Break Cliff, and the Penghu’s Lights on Fishing Boats. On the island there are a lot of historic sites, particularly in Tainan and Lugang. Mazu temples and Buddhist monasteries are everywhere. The wildlife and landscapes are plentiful and unusual. There are 7 landscapes gardens. So this is favourable for the sightseeing, vacational, study and religious tours. The noted scenic areas include the Ali Mountain Zone, the belt from tropics to frigid zone, and the three wonderful sights including the forest, sea of clouds, and sunrise. The Sun and Moon Lake Zone includes the natural lakes with many historic sites around them. The Deep & Secluded Luge Gorge Zone is noted for its imposing and danger. It includes the gorges and valleys of Liwu Stream in Hualian County. The Nanwan Jidian Zone includes the Yuanchun Peninsula in Pingdong County, the tropica botanical garden, and the seashore resort area. Besides there are the Taipei’s Mt. Yangming Tourist Area, the Peitou Hot Spring Area, the Yehliu Natural Seashore Park, Wulai Waterfall, and the Shimen Reservoir in Taoyuan County.
