With the plateau scenery and the natural resources of wild animals and plants, Qinghai is the source of the Changjiang and Huanghe rivers, the two mother rivers of China. The province is favourable for the sightseeing, mountaineering, exploring, scientific researches, and rally. It is a multinational place with the unique Tibetan Buddhism and ethnic custom. There are 4 tourist zones in the province. The Hehuang Tourist Zone with Xining as ite center includes Ta’er Lamasery, Qutan Temple. Xining Mosque, and the ruins of the Old Tang – Tibet Road. The Lake Qinghai Tourist Zone with beautiful scenery includes the marvellous spectacles of the Bird Island,camping, horse – riding, camel – riding, and visiting the herdsmen. The South Qinghai Tourist Zone includes the Wutun’s Tibetan “Regong Art”, Kanbual National Forest Park, Danxia landforms, and Lijiaxia Power Station. The Golmud Tourist Zone includes Wanzhang Salt Bridge, Yadan landforms, and the Gobi Desert. The festivals include the Lake Qinghai Sightseeing Festival, the Xining’s Liuyueliu Art Festival, the Yushu Prefecture Tibetan Grassland Singing & Dancing Festival, and the Huangnan Prefecture Ethnic Zhuanshan Fair.

Capital of Qinghai Province; an ancient highland city with a lot of scenic spots and historical sites. Major Attractions: Taoist Tulou (Rammed-earth Pavilion) of Northern Ch'an Monastery, Southern Ch'an Monastery, Dongguan Mosque, and Datong Laoye Mountain Forest Zong.
