The Grassland Folklore Tour and the Border Tour are two characteristics of Inner Mongolia. The 2 route include Hohhot – Grassland(Xilamuren and Gegentala) – Baotou(Wudang Zhao) – Sand Sound Bay – Genghis Khan’s Mausoleum; and Manzhouli Zone with the grassland, forests, and ethnic custom as its center; the Chifeng Tourist Zone with the ruins of Liao Upper and Middle Capitals, and Hongshan Culture as its center; the Arershan Hot Spring Health Tourist Zone; the Ih Ju League Erduos Folklore Tourist Zone; the Bayannur League Yinshan Crag Painting Archaeology Tourist Zone; the Alxs League Heicheng Ruins Desert Ecology & Adventure Tourist Zone. Their characteristic s are quite different.

Capital: Hohhot

Hohhot (meaning "green city") is capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Hohhot Airport, 18km from downtown, operates regular flights to and from Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen Wuhan and Shijiazhuang. The local railway station runs fast through trains to many major cities in China and international trains bound for Moscow and Ulan Bator.
