Hubei province is convenently located. The Three Gorges Project is well known at home and abroad. Mt. Wudang is listed in the World Heritage List. The province has 5 state – listed scenic zones, 4 state – listed famous cultural and historic cities, 3 national nature reserves. Shengnongjia has joined the world biosphere protection net. The development of the tourist sites from the layout of “2 cities, 2 mountains and 2 routes”. The 2 cities includes Wuhan(Yellow Crane Tower, the East Lake) and Yichang(Gezhouba Project). The 2 mountains include Mt. Wudang, the first one among the noted Taoist mountains, and Shennongjia where there is a mystery of the existence of the wild man. The 2 routes include the Three Gorge Tourist Route(through Sichuan and Hubei provinces) which is a huge natural gallery, and the Three Kingdom Tourist Route(“the Gathering of Heroes”, Changbanpo, Huarongdao, Maicheng, “Making Three Calls at the Thatched Cottage”, and “Burning the Red Crag”, all these took place at Xiangfan, Dangzhou, Jingzhou and Puji). The Yangtze and Hanshui rivers converge at Hubei Province's capital, Wuhan, a tripartite city consisting of Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang, and a major waterway, highway and airway transportation centre lauded as "Thoroughfare of nine Provinces". Traditional scenic spots mingle with newly built ones in the city, which include Yellow Crane Tower, East Lake, Hubei Museum, Guiyuan Temple, Wuhan Yangtze Bridge, Ancient Zither Terrace, and the former site of the military government of the Revolution of 1919.
