Haikou Hainan Province
Haikou, the capital of Hainan Province, China’s second largest island, known also as the “Coconut City”, the air of Haikou is filled with the aroma of coconuts. Haikou, this name means ”Mouth of the Sea”, because it located at the northern end of Hainan Island, on the west bank of the Nandu River estuary.
The environment of Haikou is excellent, streets lined with coconut palms, a large number of natural resources, and also its public transport facilities are convenient.
Haikou is a rising international tropical seashore resort. With the sea on three sides Haikou enjoys a long coastline that features excellent seawater and bathing beaches. You can just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Besides its natural resources, Haikou has lots of sites of historical interests. Such as the Wugong Temple (The Five-Official Memorial Temple), Tomb of Hai Rui, the Xiuying Emplacement, etc.
When you come to Haikou, you must tempt the seafood, its definitely good. And also there are four dishes should not be missed, they are Wenchang Chicken, Dongshan Mutton, Jiaji Duck and Hele Crab. Haikou also has an abundance of fresh local fruits such as mangos, pineapples, coconuts, betelnuts, pawpaw, lichee and so on.
